Hitkarni University, Jabalpur

Situated in a hot arid region, the design aims to minimize heat gain, by orienting all classrooms & facilities to the north. Individual blocks branch off a curvilinear spine punctuated with open spaces creating wind tunnels & eliminating the need for air-conditioning, making the building energy efficient. Natural light permeates the internal spaces through the day minimizing artificial lighting. Designed contextually taking cognizance of the climate the building is both economical & sustainable.
