Mirai House, Bhilwara

This 8800 square foot home was created within a residential villa layout. In Sino-Japanese vocabulary, Mirai means future. Mirai is a contextual house, built keeping in mind the hot climate of Rajasthan, India.  Planned for a family of 3 generations, the house has 3 levels, a gym and a study. The heights vary based on the area, with dining spaces boasting 24 feet tall spaces. The strong rust coloured exterior, paved way for a more architectural and minimalist interior. We chose a palette of neutral beige , natural wooden tones, combined with locally sourced furniture, hand made textile artwork, ceramic wall installations and matka cotton lights. The end result being a harmonious wabi sabi aesthetic that syncopates perfectly with the setting of the space.
